The TeamClare Tibbs BVM&S MRCVS (Partner) Clare qualified from Edinburgh University, and has worked locally since then. She has worked primarily in the livestock sector developing particular interests in fertility and mastitis of cattle. Clare is married to Mark, and enjoys helping and providing input to their family dairy farm in Stanton Drew. Clare also enjoys pig medicine. Mobile: 07793 443392 Ed Simmons BVetMed MRCVS (Partner) Ed qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London. He worked in a large farm practice in South Cheshire practicing mainly with Dairy cattle before teaming-up with Clare in 2004. His main interests lie in preventative medicine, particularly cattle lameness. Ed grew up on his parents’ mixed livestock farm in Kingston Seymour where he has always maintained an input and interest. Ed also enjoys work in the poultry sector. Mobile: 07816 165462 Edna Bennett BVSc MRCVS Edna joined our large animal team in the autumn of 2007, from a farm animal centred practice in west Wales, which she joined after graduation from the University of Liverpool in 2006. Her interest in farm animals and her desire to become a vet stem from growing up on a sheep farm in Norway. In Britain Edna leads a similar, outdoor life helping out on her husband's riding school in south Somerset at the weekend. Edna is currently on maternity leave after the birth of her son Tobias. Jim Houlton BVSc MRCVS Jim joined Tibbs and Simmons after graduating from Bristol University in 2007. Coming from a farming background, Jim has a deep-rooted interest in the industry. He has a strong desire and enthusiasm to help farmers increase their productivity of their unit whilst overcoming the challenges this presents. In his spare time Jim is a keen rower, he recently crossed the Atlantic Ocean in a two-man boat, raising over £10,000 for Farm-Africa. Mobile: 07912 274173 Andrew Linney BVetMed MRCVS Andrew joined the farm team in July 2010, he has set up home in Wrington with his partner Lindsey. He originally hails from the North-West, but is keen to aclimatise to the Somerset way of life. He enjoys all aspects of Farm Practice but has a particular interest in heifer rearing and pneumonia prevention. Mobile: 07738 194832 John Morton joined the Tibbs and Simmons farm animal team, after retiring from partnership in Furniss and Morton at Summer Lane Veterinary Centre. John has spent many years as an active mixed practitioner with a strong bias towards the farm animal work, adapting with the ever-changing agricultural industry. He is now deservedly taking life a little easier working on a part-time basis. On Reception Our three receptionists Ann, Karen and Sandra, have had first hand experience of agriculture, and understand the problems facing farmers on a day-to-day basis. They are based at Redhill and operate the Farm office and dispensary. They also see to any billing or invoicing queries.
